Meet the Interns

Intern Spotlight:

Rebecca O’Neal - Design Associate I -Civil

A good education resulting in a college degree is essential to becoming a well-prepared employee. What is irreplaceable however, is the on-the-job experience my internship at Haskell gave me. The gradual and real work opportunity I received helped me to understand the job and become familiar with the team and be a more effective contributor to Haskell. In addition, I was better able to stay focused on my courses. Lastly, earning money while a full-time student alleviated the cost and stress of being a student. I’m ecstatic that I had the great internship opportunity here at Haskell.

I started my first internship in 2021 with the Land Development team. I learned how to use AutoCAD and was introduced to many engineering concepts that I saw when I returned to school in the Fall. I went on to work during Winter and Summers breaks until my graduation. My second Summer of my internship program, I was able to practice my presentation skills in front of a large audience which was an invaluable experience. During my third Summer, I was able to visit a project site and was amazed to see some of the designs that I helped work come to life. It was also my first Summer that I had to help my team meet a big deadline where we all stayed late and came in early to finish on time. That taught me a lot about working under pressure with a team.

All of these experiences helped me focus on my education and see how it connected with the job at hand. I have an amazing team and supervisor who all take the time to help me grow as a professional and an engineer. I find the culture of Haskell to be supportive and I could not be more grateful for having access to the resources I have been provided. I was able to explore other job opportunities and concluded that the work environment and my experience at Haskell with my team couldn’t be beaten, so I accepted a full-time offer to continue at Haskell.

On the 25th anniversary of The Haskell Company’s presence in Latin America, this outstanding video features our cross-border pioneers telling the story of why we went and how we’ve been able to thrive.

“When Haskell entered Mexico in 1997, what we saw was a great opportunity to serve multinational clients. The market was not willing to receive those services from companies that were bringing people from the United States. It had to be a national team, and that’s what Haskell did, and that’s why we have achieved so much success.” - John-Paul Saenz, P.E.

Answer Repetitive Emails with Quick Parts

Do you find yourself typing the same email content again and again? Probably your workmates ask the same question frequently, or you always make the same announcement every month. In that case, Quick Parts will be your best friend.

A collection of reusable pieces of content, Quick Parts, is one of the best ways to boost your workflow in Outlook. You can access this feature from the Insert tab every time you reply to (or create a new) email.

To add a new snippet to Quick Parts, simply open a new email, type your message or phrase, and highlight the text. Then, go to Insert > Quick Parts > Save Selection to Quick Part Gallery. You can start using this snippet whenever you please.
